i know a lot of fandom is going to dispute this but ed definitely never said anything about izzy teaching him everything he knows, not even offscreen, that was the whole joke. what happened was ed said “you need to work on your mean voice” and stede thought “who do i know who’s really good at sounding mean” so he marched straight to izzy and turned on the ol’ stede bonnet charm and flattered him into getting a private lesson with a few trademark “complete lies” and that’s much funnier
